Manufacture of medicines using genetic alternation of plants and animals is a controversial process, in this process there is likelihood of failures as such manufacturer need take some risks. Sometimes even if the research is successful and medicine is manufactured, government authorities may not approve this kind of medicine due to risks and ethical issues. The final product needs to be tested by various clinical trials for many years after which they are approved for use for various diseases. If medicine does not meet the guidelines given by current Good Manufacturing Practices” (cGMP) and regulations of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) then medicine is not approved for commercial release.
